As Philippine businesses accelerate their digital transformation—adopting cloud tools, e-commerce platforms, and AI-driven systems—cybersecurity has become as critical as internet connectivity. For small and medium enterprises (SMEs), the challenge is no longer just going online, but staying protected while doing so.
Globe Business is addressing this gap by integrating cybersecurity directly into its connectivity offerings through GFiber Broadband, which now comes with a Free Vulnerability Assessment (VA) Scan designed to help SMEs identify and address potential security risks before they are exploited.
The move reflects a growing reality in the digital economy: SMEs, which form the backbone of local employment and economic activity, are increasingly targeted by cyber threats. Industry data has shown cyberattacks against smaller businesses rising sharply—often driven by automated systems that continuously scan the internet for exposed systems, regardless of company size or profile.
Through the latest rollout highlighted in The Blueprint by Globe, Globe Business positions cybersecurity not as a separate or premium service, but as a built-in layer of everyday business connectivity. The approach embeds protection directly into GFiber Broadband plans, making security more accessible to businesses at different stages of digital maturity.
The Free Vulnerability Assessment is available across select GFiber Broadband plans starting from Plan 1299 up to higher tiers including Plans 1499, 1999, 2499, and 2999. Higher-tier plans include a greater number of VA scans. Each assessment is estimated to provide up to PHP 4,500 in value, giving SMEs immediate cost savings that can be redirected toward operations and growth.
According to Globe Business Chief Marketing Officer KD Dizon, the goal is to remove barriers that prevent SMEs from adopting stronger cybersecurity measures.
“No entrepreneur should have to risk everything they’ve built because cybersecurity is too costly or too complex,” Dizon said. “By embedding proactive protection into everyday connectivity, we are helping businesses move beyond basic internet access toward intelligent resilience—where security grows alongside their operations.”
The Free VA Scan functions as a diagnostic cybersecurity tool that evaluates a company’s digital environment across three key areas. It identifies vulnerabilities in networks, websites, and connected devices, helping prevent data breaches before they occur. It also helps reduce operational downtime caused by malware or system disruptions, and improves IT efficiency by pinpointing specific security gaps so businesses can prioritize investments more effectively.
Beyond SMEs in general, the solution is positioned to support sector-specific needs. E-commerce and retail businesses can better protect customer payment data and online transactions. Healthcare providers can safeguard sensitive patient information. Financial institutions and legal firms can reinforce the security of confidential records and communications. Meanwhile, hospitality and food service businesses such as hotels, restaurants, and cafés can strengthen guest data protection while maintaining stable digital operations.
By integrating cybersecurity into its broadband services, Globe Business is reinforcing its role as a partner in digital transformation—helping Philippine enterprises build more secure, scalable, and resilient operations in an increasingly high-risk digital environment.
