Globe upgrades GFiber Prepaid to 300Mbps, adds 7-day free unlimited internet

A Filipino household uses high-speed internet for work, online classes, and entertainment as Globe upgrades its GFiber Prepaid service to deliver faster, more reliable connectivity nationwide.

As rising fuel costs and an ongoing energy crunch push more Filipinos to stay home, demand for fast and reliable internet is becoming less of a luxury and more of a necessity. With flexible learning still in place and many companies maintaining work-from-home setups, connectivity now sits at the center of everyday life.

Responding to this shift, Globe is upgrading its GFiber Prepaid offering, positioning it as a more accessible high-speed internet option for households across the country. The service now delivers speeds of up to 300Mbps—six times faster than its previous 50Mbps baseline—while keeping the installation fee at ₱699. New users also get seven days of free unlimited internet upon activation.

The upgrade is designed to support increasingly connected homes. With speeds of up to 300Mbps, GFiber Prepaid can handle as many as 15 devices simultaneously, allowing families to work, study, stream, and game without interruption. For households juggling remote work, online classes, and digital side hustles, the boost in speed aims to ease everyday connectivity challenges.

Globe is also maintaining its prepaid flexibility. Users can top up ₱499 for seven days (around ₱71 per day) or ₱1,199 for 30 days (about ₱40 per day), offering a relatively affordable entry point into fiber-fast internet.

According to Abigail Cardino, Vice President for Globe Broadband Business, the move reflects growing demand for stronger home connectivity. She noted that as more Filipinos rely on digital platforms for work, education, and information, faster internet is becoming essential to staying productive and informed.

The company says the upgrade aligns with broader efforts to expand digital inclusion, particularly as economic pressures encourage more people to remain at home. By lowering the barrier to high-speed fiber, Globe aims to help households stay connected without significantly increasing costs.

As more Filipinos adapt to a home-centered lifestyle, GFiber Prepaid is being positioned not just as a connectivity tool, but as a practical solution for navigating daily life in a digital-first environment.
