Globe Showcases How 5G Is Powering Everyday Life Through High-Energy Missions in BGC

5G Energy (2): Globe leaders and Xiaomi representatives shared the stage to highlight how cutting-
edge devices paired with Globe 5G enable Filipinos to do more and be more in their daily lives.

Globe Telecom is positioning 5G not merely as a faster network, but as a real-world performance advantage for Filipinos—one that fuels creativity, productivity, and connection in everyday life.

This message took center stage recently as Globe transformed Bonifacio Global City into a live demonstration hub for its 5G capabilities, rolling out a series of interactive “5G Energy Missions” designed to show how next-generation connectivity enhances common digital experiences in real time.

The activation began with the launch of the Globe 5G Energy Meter at Uptown Mall, marking the start of a multi-mission showcase that placed communities, creators, students, and consumers at the heart of the experience. Globe emphasized that it currently has the widest 5G coverage in the Philippines, based on analysis by Ookla® using Speedtest Intelligence® data.

Participants took on five missions, each anchored on everyday lifestyles made more seamless by 5G connectivity.

The Globe 5G EnergyTok challenge tapped into the creator economy, encouraging TikTok users to produce and upload short-form content as part of a branded dance challenge targeting 500 entries. With Globe 5G, uploads remained sharp and instantaneous, even in high-traffic areas.

For fitness enthusiasts, the Globe 5G Hyper Move mission challenged participants to collectively log 500,000 steps across BGC using wearable devices, highlighting how real-time tracking and connected wellness tools benefit from low-latency 5G networks.

Creativity and collaboration took the spotlight in the Globe 5G Building Craft, where students from the University of Santo Tomas, Asia Pacific College, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, and Mapua University worked together to build an interactive Globe 5G city. The activity underscored how fast and reliable connectivity enables smoother teamwork and immersive digital play.

Meanwhile, the Globe 5G Quiz Off demonstrated live interactivity at scale. A real-time digital quiz bee aimed to engage 500 participants and reach 500,000 livestream views, showcasing how 5G minimizes lag and supports simultaneous participation.

The final mission, Globe 5G Live Streak, partnered with official 5G device collaborator Xiaomi for a payday live-selling session. Viewers were challenged to generate 100,000 likes and 50,000 comments, illustrating how 5G strengthens engagement for creators, sellers, and audiences alike.

With all missions completed, Globe capped the event by awarding 5G-ready learning devices to selected public schools, including Rizal High School in Pasig City, Signal Village National High School in Taguig City, and General Pio del Pilar High School in Makati City. The initiative reflects Globe’s broader push to expand digital inclusion and equip students with future-ready tools.

“Every upgrade should empower people to do more and be more,” said Globe Chief Marketing Officer Roche Vandenberghe. “These missions are our way of showing Filipinos what’s possible when everyday life runs on Globe 5G.”

Globe Chief Commercial Officer Darius Delgado echoed this, noting that 5G is already delivering tangible benefits. “5G is no longer a future upgrade but a performance advantage people can use today through both broadband and mobile. From gaming to learning to creating, upgrading to Globe 5G lets customers unlock better experiences instantly, whether at home or on the go.”
