The 14th Philippine EV Summit will put electric vehicle owners in the spotlight, giving visitors a chance to learn about the costs, charging requirements and everyday experience of owning an EV.
The Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) signed a partnership with the Philippine EV Community (PEVC) on October 14 to bring owner-led activities to the three-day event, which will run from October 22 to 24 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
PEVC, which has nearly 100,000 members nationwide, will organize a display featuring EVs used by Filipino families and lead discussions on the summit’s third day, October 24. The sessions will cater to existing owners as well as prospective buyers, with community members and their families also expected to attend.
“The people who convince others to go electric are usually the ones already driving an EV,” EVAP President Willy Q. Tee Ten said, adding that hearing directly from owners would give visitors practical insights into charging, costs and daily driving.
The summit, themed “Driving ASEAN Forward: Building an Integrated Electric Mobility Ecosystem,” will feature more than 15 vehicle brands offering displays and test drives. The lineup covers city cars, family SUVs, premium and performance vehicles, commercial units and electric two-wheelers.
Participating brands include BYD, Kia, Toyota, Nissan, MG, Geely, Zeekr, Deepal, MINI, Lotus, Changan, AVATR, Dongfeng Motors, Forland, NWOW and NXT.
Beyond vehicle displays, the event will showcase charging infrastructure for homes, commercial establishments, industrial facilities and fleet operators. Banks, financing companies and insurance providers will also be present to help prospective buyers assess the costs of switching to electric mobility.
The program will include policy discussions, including a session with the Department of Energy on the regulatory roadmap for the sector.
“With volatile fuel prices, many Filipinos are curious about EVs, and the next step is to try one for themselves,” Tee Ten said, encouraging visitors to explore the displays and take advantage of the test drives.
The summit comes as the Philippine EV market continues to expand. Electrified vehicle sales in the country have more than doubled in 2026, according to EVAP, while the government has set a target of achieving 50% EV penetration on Philippine roads by 2040.
This year’s theme also places the country’s transition to electric mobility within a broader regional context, as the Philippines serves as chair of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 2026.
The event is presented with the support of ACMobility, the AutoHub Group of Companies, the Department of Energy and Toyota Motor Philippines.
Other participating companies and organizations include Pioneer Trucks, Autowise, the Department of Science and Technology, Meralco, Power Equipment & Supplies Inc., Pyro X, EVOxCharge, BPI, ChargeCube Technologies, Eclimo Electric Management Inc., FCC Philippines, Finasiatech Corp., Intercharge Corp., Jiangsu, Pioneer Insurance, Shandong Longli Electronics, Shandong Weiwei Power and WeCharge Hyperfast.
The Philippine EV Summit will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is ₱100, while students can enter for free.
