MANILA, Philippines — Philippine Airlines (PAL) has added another Airbus A350-1000 to its long-haul fleet, with the fourth aircraft arriving at Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Wednesday evening.
The aircraft, registered RP-C3513, touched down at 7:22 p.m. on September 2 following its delivery flight from Airbus’ facility in Toulouse, France.
The latest A350-1000 is the fourth of nine aircraft ordered by PAL in 2023 as part of its fleet modernization program and plans to expand its international operations. The airline is currently the first and only carrier in Southeast Asia operating the Airbus A350-1000.
The A350-1000 serves as PAL’s flagship aircraft for long-haul routes. Its 382-seat, three-class configuration includes private Business Class suites with sliding privacy doors, a dedicated Premium Economy cabin and an upgraded Economy Class section.
The aircraft is also designed to improve fuel efficiency and reduce carbon emissions compared with previous-generation wide-body aircraft, while offering improved operational performance.
PAL is planning further fleet expansion. At the Farnborough International Airshow in June, the airline signed memoranda of understanding covering nine additional Airbus A350-1000s, with purchase rights for five more, as well as 15 Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners with options for another five aircraft.
The additional aircraft are scheduled for delivery through 2036 and form part of PAL’s longer-term strategy to expand and modernize its fleet as international air travel continues to grow.
The airline currently deploys its A350-1000 aircraft on key long-haul routes, including flights to San Francisco, New York and Toronto.
Founded in 1941, Philippine Airlines is the country’s flag carrier and its only full-service network airline. The carrier operates nonstop flights from its Manila and Cebu hubs to 29 destinations in the Philippines and 40 destinations across Asia, North America, Australia and the Middle East.
PAL is an APEX Four Star airline and was recognized by Cirium for having the highest on-time performance among Asia-Pacific carriers in 2025. In 2026, the airline was also formally invited to join the oneworld Alliance.
