Style Weekend, the lifestyle magazine of Manila Bulletin, culminated its annual event to give honor and recognize the powerful women of today who strive and excel in their respective fields. Hardwork, perseverance and dedication to work, these are just some of the traits these 8 Women who WOW.

Held at the prestigious Manila Hotel last Monday, March 21, the event was hosted by RJ Ledesma, the 8 selected Women who WOW are as follows :

Maine Mendoza
Pie Alvarez
Isabelle Daza
Cristalle Belo
Rita Nazareno
Pia Wurtzbach
Xyza Cruz Bacani
Xandra Ramos-Padilla

Maine Mendoza, who is well-known as the romantic pair AlDub from Eat Bulaga’s TV show, is one of the most famous TV celebrities of today. Millions of followers in twitter, instagram, facebook and youtube, she has been an endorser of a lot of brands that promote food, health, and has been a household name. Too bad she wasn’t able to attend as she was having family time.

The lucky recipient charity is Aldub libraries, which will receive the amount of P50,000. In her absence, RJ and Liza Elarde did the compliments of receiving the check.

 

Isabelle Daza was also not present during the event.

 

Pia Alvarez’ lucky charity recipient is Mano Amiga Academy, Inc.


Xyza Bacani, an OFW who was known for her works in photography wasn’t present as well as she needs to fly out of the country. Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, who is now reigning Miss World can’t make it to the event as well.

Rita Nazareno’s chosen charity is Arnold Janssen Alternative Learning.

The dashing fashionista Cristalle Belo’s lucky charity recipient is Move.Org Foundation, Inc.

Here are the other charities that were lucky recipients of P50,000 each.

It was a fun night of free flowing wine and buffet, with great music. A salute to the women of day who unselfishly promotes goodwill in their daily endeavours.

Eli has 28 years of extensive IT sales expertise in Data, voice and network security and integrating them is his masterpiece. Photography and writing is his passion. Growing up as a kid, his father taught him to use the steel bodied Pentax and Hanimex 135mm film and single-direction flash, Polaroid cameras, and before going digital, he used mini DV tape with his Canon videocam. He now shoots with his Canon EOS 30D. Photography and blogging is a powerful mixture for him.
