Leading fiber broadband provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. has hit its two million fiber port rollout target for 2022, indicating high availability of its service to meet the country’s increasing demand for high-speed connectivity.
As of December 31, 2022, Converge has already deployed more than two million fiber ports in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, further cementing its position as the largest fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network in the Philippines.
“Converge continues to expand its nationwide network reach to efficiently deliver consumer network demands and empower Filipinos across urban and rural areas. With this record deployment of ports, we are ensuring high availability in more areas around the country,” said Converge Co-Founder and CEO Dennis Anthony Uy.
According to internal data, Converge has bolstered its port deployment in the National Capital Region (NCR) including Rizal, North and Central Luzon, as well as Mindanao. Additionally, Converge also maintained its aggressive rollout in the Visayas as it continued to seek growth opportunities in the region.
“Achieving our fiber rollout target is very much important for us to ensure that our resources are utilized effectively and to also support the growth of our residential subscriber base,” Uy added.
Based on the end-November NTC report of Converge, the Company has extended its fiber footprint to more than 613,000 kilometers, consisting of subsea, aerial, and terrestrial fiber optic cable network, all over the country.
Uy noted that Converge is on track to reach its accelerated target to cover approximately 55 percent of households in the Philippines by 2023, with its household coverage at 53 percent as of September 30, 2022.
With this accelerated network roll-out, Converge has allocated P21 billion to P23 billion in total capital expenditures for 2022.
Converge’s nationwide network reach has passed more than 14.3 million homes, as of September 30, 2022.
