GCash, the mobile leading ewallet in the Philippines has implemented another security feature for you! GCash is continuously implementing a new enhanced security feature called ACCOUNT SECURE. This feature will soon be available to all users.
What is Gcash Account Secure?
Account Secure ensures a safe and secure GCash experience by giving you control of the phone that can log in and access your GCash account. With this, you can view and authorize the phone registered to your account and remove it as needed on the Account Secure page in your settings. Technically, it only allows you to lock your GCash with only a single device.
This means, you need to indicate which preferred mobile phone you can only use for all your transactions.

How to activate Account Secure
To register a trusted phone to your GCash account, please follow the steps below:
- On your GCash app, input your mobile number and tap Next
- Enter the 6-digit authentication code and tap Submit

- Prepare for a selfie scan
- Take your selfie scan or enter your MPIN

Need more help?
If you can’t log in and see the message “Your account is already registered to another phone,” it may be because you did any of the following:
- Logged in to an unregistered phone, while your GCash Account is still registered to your other phone. If you still have access to your registered phone, please unregister it by following the steps above.
- Uninstalled/reinstalled the GCash app on your registered phone
- Did a factory reset on your registered phone
- Cleared data on your registered phone
To quickly fix this, check the message at the bottom of the screen and follow the steps below according to the message:
- I want to register this phone
- Tap I want to register this phone
- Log in via face scan or OTP
- Get Help
- Follow the instructions on the screen to unregister your old phone and register your new phone
- If you are unable to unregister your old phone, tap Get Help to chat with an agent

You may not be able to register your phone via Account Secure due to the following reasons:
- This feature is currently on limited release and is coming soon for all users
- If you are using Biometrics for account login, the face scan will not appear. Please use your MPIN to log in instead
- Your selfie scan was unsuccessful. Retry and follow the tips during your phone registration.
- You have exceeded the maximum amount of linking requests. You may register another phone again starting the first of the next month. Access your account using the last phone that was registered
Note:
Switching between different phones and reinstalling the GCash app too many times can cause temporary access restrictions. To avoid this, it’s best to stick to one phone and DO NOT REINSTALL the GCash app. If you need more help with logging in to your account, learn how to troubleshoot login issues here.
