2020 came in a big bang to the World as it has disrupted the way we do our work and the way our kids study. But who was ready for 2020? Generally, most of us weren’t ready with what happened. The Education, Finance, Business sector didn’t know how they would be able to continue doing business, work and even teaching the kids.
Luckily, we have one product that has evolved through time, Poly.

Poly, once known as Polycom, a world leader in video conferencing and IP telephony back in the early 2000s, made a shift in the conferencing space, from the video conferencing to audio conferencing, mainly in the UC segment. Poly made a bold move by acquiring Plantronics, one of the players in the headset industry for IP Telephony. Now, Poly belongs to one of the manufacturers for computing, connectivity, networking and security, HP
Unified Collaboration (UC) has been breaking grounds, making the World smaller, closer and easier to get in reach with one another. This has been the same platform that made Distance Learning and even Work from Home during the global health crisis. The ease of deploying especially for the non-techy people, makes UC a powerful tool, a new way to reach out and connect with one another.
Students needed to study, people needed to work, there is no stopping for people to do what they need in life.
Poly has the answer to that, building the gap and closing in making the World smaller and in a virtual perspective. There was a significant increase of users with Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Zoom and many more UC applications that are out there in the market today.
Poly, having the DNA of Plantronics in their products, made sure that students and workers can focus listening to the far end, thus, the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), giving the user the “focus zone”, enhancing the listener’s experience.
Since headphones have both the left and right ear covered, to add more comfort, the listener has a STEREO sound, with a multiband, giving a high and low, and boom to the pure audio.
Here are two true to life scenarios that happened during the pandemic, Princess Jonnelle Villagonzalo, 4th year graduating student from Tytana College, Bachelor of Science in Nursing; and Inno Victor Resuena, also a 4th year graduating student, Bachelor of Science in Tourism. Both have been extended by the K to 12 Curriculum and have undergone Distance Learning from 2020 until present.

Princess takes her instructions from her Professors in Nursing online via Google Meet and Microsoft Teams. They start their classes from 8am until 8pm, Mondays to Saturdays. In some occasions, they are not required to wear their uniforms and turn on their cameras. But during synchronous classes, they need to be dressed up as if they are going to class.
Inno also takes his classes online and is completing his practicum or On the Job Training (OJT). They also have blended learning. Some cases he has to take duty in a travel agency, attend an event in a hotel. But most of the time, he does his practicum online.

Imagine if you don’t have the technology like a fast internet, a good desktop or laptop, and the most important of it all, is a good listening and talking device to interact with your Professors in school? That would really be bad since you wouldn’t be able to take notes easily or respond to your group projects.
Poly UC headsets has saved these 2 graduating students, making their student life easy. Giving them comfort with over the ear headphones, wide-band range of sound, Adaptive Noise Cancellation (ANC), and long lasting battery that last hours of use, and a stable and secure bluetooth connection, cordless clutter-free enabling mobility and no restraint in being on the desk sitting the whole day.

Poly Voyager 4320 versus Focus 2
Both the Poly Voyager 4320 and Focus 2 have Adaptive Noise Cancellation (ANC), over the ear well-cushioned headphones over a comfortable headband that can cater to any head size. The headband is adjustable to customize how you would like it to fit on your hand. The extended microphones can rotate from a head to mouth position. The Poly Acoustic Fence, a proprietary feature to the Poly product, assures you that long talk time and even listening will not stress you out.
The Poly Voyager 4320 comes with a charging cradle that also acts as a headphone stand that connects via a USB-A cable or bluetooth dongle. The dongle for the bluetooth has an effective range of 50 meters (for non-partition rooms), upto 48 hours listening time, or 18 to 24 hours talk time. Equipped with a 350mah lithium-ion battery, it charges quickly in 15 to 20 minutes when fully drained.
The Poly Focus 2 comes with a USB-C charging cable and a bluetooth dongle as well. With a maximum talk time of 25 hours, you will surely be able to use the Poly Focus 2 continuously for days without the need of charging.
Design wise, they look classy in black soft leather like with the sturdy metallic headbands, inspired from the Plantronics family i would say. Whether you are using a desktop or a laptop, the Poly UC series will enable your audio and video calls.
