2014 Philippines Mobile App Developers’ Day

AT&T, A Space Manila, Golden Gate Ventures and Philippine Software Industry Association will hold its inaugural Philippine Mobile App Developers’ Day on December 6-7, 2014. The event is open to students, developers, innovators or anyone with a great idea. Participants will have 24 hours to form teams and turn their ideas into a mobile app focusing on “Smart City and Community Involvement”. They will be vying for prizes totaling more than US$ 10,000 or Php 450,000 including six-month mentorship from Golden Gate Ventures.

United States Ambassador to the Philippines, Philip Goldberg, is set to give a keynote address to launch the event. As well, AT&T spokespeople will be available to demonstrate the company’s commitment to its developers’ program in the Philippines and in the ASEAN as a whole. The developers, meanwhile, will showcase their app development skills.

Justin Hall from Golden Gate Ventures, a seed fund for Internet startups in Southeast Asia

Once the teams have formed, they will be given a full 24-hours to come up with an idea, draw on the board, formulate an approach and come up with a running program before the time ends. This hackathon inspires the best of minds to bring out the best of their knowledge in a collaborative manner.

The winners will be announced after passing the criteria of the judges.
