McDonald’s Philippines makes outdoor dining more accessible across all its stores in the country. The giant food chain has begun investing in creating more outdoor dining spaces by setting up tables and chairs outside for customers to have more options where they can enjoy their favorite meals.

In light of the pandemic and enhanced quarantine protocols, McDonald’s has adapted its stores to be profitable and accessible with this shift to more outdoor dining experience. As the government announced an additional two weeks of Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) in Metro Manila and nearby provinces starting May 1, the fast food chain took the advisory as an opportunity to give customers a chance to dine in despite the restrictions.
Under the M Safe program, McDonald’s has implemented stringent safety standards with contact-tracing, temperature checks, and mandatory wearing of face mask and shield to assure that diners can enjoy their meals during the quarantine. Social distancing will be followed at all times from queueing for their orders and while dining in. To reduce physical contact between store staff and customers, the store chain has also made cashless payment an option for payment.

Bike & Dine
In addition to allowing customers to dine outside the stores, McDonald’s also gives cyclists a chance to order and dine outside. The Bike & Dine initiative allows bikers to securely mount their bikes in racks that are attached to a ledge which smartly doubles as a table. In this way the bike-riding diner will think less about the safety of their bicycles and more on enjoying their meal.
