The country’s longest running motorist assistance program, PETRON Lakbay Alalay, has evolved from being just a seasonal activity into a series of year-round ongoing programs. Still manned by volunteers, PETRON Lakbay Alalay is now activated year-round, each time there is a long holiday weekend like the one held last August at the PETRON station on SLEX.
In addition to free car check-up, the PETRON Lakbay Alalay hospitality tents included a first aid station, arts and crafts for kids, as well as a free 15-minute massage to ease travel fatigue. For those who wanted to grab a quick snack, you could buy some ice cream at discounted prices from the Magnolia scooping station, or avail of the free sampling of Tender Juicy hotdogs, as well as free bottled water.
With domestic tourism on the rise, more and more of our countrymen are hitting the roads for quick getaways during long holiday weekends. If you have any upcoming travel plans, make sure your car is in tiptop shape and roadworthy, by availing of either the quick service check or the comprehensive inspection service, free of charge. Just look for the PETRON Lakbay Alalay Free Safety Check sign and ask for assistance. This is available at participating stations nationwide, all-year round.
PETRON Lakbay Alalay is now a sustainable program with the following components: (a) Lakbay Alalay para sa Kaligtasan includes the Free Safety Check, the “Seat Belt Saves Lives” sticker program, safe motoring reminders on the highways, and LPG checks in communities; (b) Lakbay Alalay para sa Kalikasan consists of tree-planting tie-ups with local government units and tollway operators, and trash bin promo; and (c) Lakbay Alalay para sa Kalusugan with a Fun Run, anti-dengue campaign, and medical missions.
Now in its 28th year, PETRON Lakbay Alalay is a full-blown effort that caters to the needs of every Filipino motorist travelling the roads of life. This Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program is engaging and, at the same time, remarkable both for PETRON and for the Filipino people because of its holistic and relevant coverage.
