PLDT’s Free Bee launched its latest video campaign to help OFWs celebrate graduation. The advertising-based voice over Internet app lets users call loved ones in the Philippines for free. Users will just have to watch a short video ad and they will have 2 minutes of call to the Philippines.
In a recent campaign, PLDT’s Free Bee helped OFWs connect easily to their loved ones, especially during family milestones, such as celebrating graduation rites.
For Josephine, a domestic helper in Hong Kong, PLDT Free Bee helped her witness her eldest son’s Marine Technology studies through the years. “Mixed emotions, excitement, and the feeling that so many years went by, and all the sacrifices I made are really worth it seeing my child wearing a toga, going up on the stage, and [receiving his] diploma,” she said when asked how she felt about it.
For Evangeline, who is based in Qatar, it is fulfilling for her to see her children finish their studies. She said that as a parent who is far from her children, it is moving to see that all of the family’s sacrifices are rewarded with the realization of their dreams for them.
The two modern-day heroes Josephine and Evangeline have been able to stay in touch with their children in the Philippines via the PLDT Free Bee mobile app.
“[It’s] beneficial and convenient. It helps keep distant family members together and helps me stay in touch with my family,” Josephine said.
