Ambassador Philippe Jones Lhuillier joined the groundbreaking ceremony of Hotel 101 Global in Madrid on 13 March 2024. Hotel 101 Global, a Filipino-owned company, will be opening its first location in Europe in 2026. The 680-room hotel will be located a stone’s throw away from the Real Madrid training camp and will overlook a section of track of Formula 1 in Madrid.
In his remarks, Ambassador Lhuillier observed that the future of the Philippines-Spain trade and investment partnership gleams with great promise and said that, “We are now poised to embark, like the galleons of old, on a journey of enhanced economic cooperation and prosperity.”
Hotel 101 Madrid, when it opens after 20 months of construction, will be the fifth-largest hotel in Madrid in terms of room stock. It is also located in proximity to the Madrid-Barajas International Airport and to IFEMA, the largest and busiest international trade exhibition hall in Madrid that brings in thousands of visitors and business travelers every year.
Hotel 101 Madrid not only bolsters the profile of Philippine investments in Spain, but also builds long-term business relationships between Philippine and Spanish companies.
