San Miguel Pale Pilsen: Millennials Connecting with the Older Generation

No matter the generation, what’s important is the genuineness of brotherhood or samahan, and San Miguel Pale Pilsen proves it.

How do we form a bond between older drinkers with the younger ones? San Miguel Pale Pilsen’s latest music videos help connects both generations together as one.

In celebration of long-lasting friendships, San Miguel Pale Pilsen released two music videos on May 14, 2019.

The first music video, “Side A”, perfectly embodies how older drinkers partied in the day, depicting retro fashion with flared pants, long hair, disco music and San Miguel Pale Pilsen.

The second music video, “Side B”, delineates a more modern take, showing younger drinkers partying in 2019, hitting pubs in street wear, showing off hip-hop moves, partying to electro beats, and enjoying the same San Miguel Pale Pilsen.

When you play the two videos in sync side-by-side with a friend using two mobile phones, the videos interact as one.

A basketball shot in “Side A” becomes a video game alley-oop pass in “Side B”.  Electro-infused vocals in one video are harmonized by Motown-style backup singers in the other.  A classic disco dance move in one video is complemented by a pop-and-lock move in the other.

Ask a friend to watch the two videos together and play your two mobile phones simultaneously. The experience is a mind-blowing cinematic ride.

Merging of standalone songs from two contrasting genres to bridge the gap between generations is what sets this campaign apart from previous campaigns that have used dual mobile video executions.  It is a success of painstaking filming, song writing, choreography, and production design.

“Much has been said about the differences between millennials and the other older generation,” said Bea Totanes, Brand Manager for San Miguel Pale Pilsen, “To make two contrasting generations realize that they actually have more in common, that is something I think we can be proud of as a brand.”

The videos are part of the brand’s campaign to celebrate lasting friendships with the theme “Kahit Kailan, Walang Iwanan.”

You can view the videos on San Miguel Pale Pilsen’s Facebook Page and YoutTube Channel, #WalangIwanan
