SINGAPORE – 13 April 2021 – Lexus has recently announced its commitment to be the official automotive partner of the 2021 HSBC Women’s World Championship. The tournament will be Held in Sentosa, Singapore from 29 April to 2 May, 2021.
The event sees the convergence of industry game changers to provide a memorable but safe homecoming for the golf tournament in Singapore after a year-long hiatus. Lexus will let guests experience the unique Japanese hospitality concept of ‘Omotenashi’, a term familiarized to the world during the presentation of the cancelled 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The Japanese car brand’s innovative ethos will resonate in the Omotenashi theme of the event.
In a speech, Vice President at Lexus Asia Mr. David Nordstrom expressed the brand’s honor “for the opportunity to work alongside like-minded partners like HSBC, Rolex and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) in supporting the resumption of prestigious events of this scale. He also added that their new ‘Lexus Electrified’ vision – which underpins the next chapter of an electrified future – empowers Lexus to be the automotive partner best-placed for driving this tournament forward in a transformative age marked by evolving social environment, mobility needs, and customer lifestyle demands.”
Furthermore, Nordstrom expressed that the golf sponsorship “goes beyond bringing sporting events back in a post-pandemic world. The spirit of the tournament’s long-awaited return demonstrates the very reason why we have been longstanding supporters of the game of golf; its resilience and sportsmanship reflect Lexus’ core values and speak to our customers’ lifestyle that values dedication to craft and skill.”
To be held at the Sentosa Golf Club, the premier golf tournament will bring together the world’s best female golf players, including defending champion Sung-hyun Park, World No. 1 Jin-young Ko, two-time winner Inbee Park, and five-time LPGA Tour winner Minjee Lee.
The world-class tournament will see Lexus provide a fleet of 30 luxury cars, including electric/hybrids, to all golf players during the duration of the tournament. The official automotive partner will also showcase two new Lexus models at the event, such as the UX 300e, the car maker’s first-ever all-electric vehicle.
