Following the announcement of the event, the much-anticipated Cashless Expo 2023, organized by Godigital Pilipinas in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), and the Department of Agriculture (DA), successfully opened its doors to the public with the help of major industry leaders, Senator Mark Villar, other government officials, and over 200 local brands, merchants, and farmers. The event, held at the World Trade Center, marked a significant milestone in fostering a cashless economy and promoting digital innovation in the country.

Department of Trade and Industry discussed about DTI’s e-commerce roadmap for promotion of Digital Payments, by implementing the Digital Payments Transformation Roadmap, to help and support the Bangko ng Sentral ng Pilipinas. By digitizing merchants, DTI teaches small businesses using ewallets, and also promote financial inclusion.
In the presscon, the media asked about how the ewallets can help propagate financial inclusion, financial literacy, security against scammers and how Businesses can take advantage of the QR PH to facilitate person to merchant payments which are fully verified as legit establishments, to shy away from the person to person payments which is a high-risk and a cause for fictitious payments.
