SINGAPORE – Vertiv, a global provider of data center infrastructure solutions, has released its Vertiv Liebert® VIC, a liquid immersion cooling solution for high-density-data centers.
Developed in cooperation with Green Revolution Cooling (GRC), the leader in single-phase immersion cooling for data centers, the Liebert VIC boosts the cooling efficiencies of dense computing environments for such uses as Internet of Things (IoT), edge computing, and automation.
In a statement, Stephen Liang, Chief Technology Officer of Vertiv, said “the Liebert VIC joins a new generation of reliable thermal, power and IT management products that help data center and telecom customers to meet their efficiency goals.”
Compared to traditional cooling methods, the new Liebert VIC joins a class of liquid immersion cooling systems that supports high-compute environments and improves efficiencies, sustainably, and reliability.
The Liebert VIC can support high-density loads of up to 100-kW per rack, utilizing warm water and ElectroSafe™ dielectric liquid coolant, an odorless, non-toxic, single-phase coolant that has 1,200 times the heat capacity of air.
For his part, Chee Hoe Ling, vice president for Infrastructure Solutions, Vertiv Asia, said that the new cooling solution can meet customers’ high density needs and “rely on this highly efficient thermal solution option to cost-effectively deploy high performance computing options to their customers.”
The new Liebert VIC can be deployed in any geographical climate because of its high heat efficiency, and can also be deployed within weeks thanks to its modular design, minimizing the need for data center space construction or renovations.
