SAMSUNG Philippines extended its help through free services to the residents of Marikina City affected by Typhoon Ulysses. The typhoon, which made landfall on November 11, 2020, triggered massive flooding and heavy damage in many parts of Luzon, especially in Rizal Province, Marikina City, and Cagayan Valley.

Thirteen washing machines were deployed to offer free laundry services for families and residents at the Jesus Dela Peña Barangay Hall in Marikina City. An entertainment system with smart television and a sound tower speaker was also installed to provide entertainment while they wait. A product check-up booth was also set up to offer free evaluation and discounts for restorations on any Samsung appliances.

The campaign ran from November 19 to December 2, 2020, where Samsung was able to help over 1,000 residents, processed almost 7,000 kilograms of laundry, and performed over 70 free check-ups on different appliances.

“Our hearts go to those affected by Typhoon Ulysses. We, at Samsung, believe that this initiative coupled with our industry-leading technology can help families rebuild their lives,” says Samsung Electronics Philippines Corporation President James Jung. “We hope that we can contribute to their health and safety by giving them access to clean clothes and functioning appliances because Samsung cares, even after customers have purchased our products.”
