Since the Department of Trade and Industry created the SikatPinoy brand for the national trade fairs organized by the Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotion in partnership with the DTI regional and provincial offices, the SikatPinoy fairs have become much-awaited events for Metro Manila shoppers.

The 2015 season starts off with the SikatPinoy National Food Fair scheduled on March 25 to 29, 2015, at Megatrade Halls 1-3, at SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.

With the theme Piling-Piling Pagkaing Pilipino, more than 150 exhibitors from all over the country have brought their regional delicacies and culinary specialties. The product categories being showcased include meat, fish and marine products; processed fruits and vegetables; ingredients, sauces and condiments; wines and beverages; coffee, tea and cocoa; bakery products, snacks and confectionaries; organic, herbal and natural products; and food supplements and vitamins.

Some of the major food brands, namely San Miguel Corporation, Silver Swan, Minola Cooking Oil, Spring Cooking Oil, Julie’s Bakeshop, and Edson Bakeshop are participating and offering their products at discounted prices. Several cooking demonstrations are scheduled everyday, and exhibitors are offering food-tasting activities.

Three SikatPinoy fairs are slated for 2015: the SikatPinoy National Food Fair on March 25 to 29; the SikatPinoy National Art and Fashion Fair from June 26 to 28; and the SikatPinoy National Trade Fair from December 2 to 6.

With the Philippines hosting the 2015 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, the DTI-BDTP will also be organizing a Handicrafts Expo from May 6 to 10, at the SM Megatrade Halls. This will feature exhibitors from the APEC economies as well as SMEs from the country’s 16 regions.
