GrabCar launches premium line — GrabCar+

Grabcar+

February 18, 2015, GrabCar, the Philippines’ number one car booking app, launched its new line, GrabCar+, at A Space Manila. The line offers chauffeur-style transportation service with luxury car options such as Fortuner, Montery, Camry, Hummer and Tucson.

“The GrabCar business model has been successful over the past year. We’ve been getting good reviews as well as requests to include more premium cars. This is where we got opening business to those who are interested to partner with us through the LTFRB-acknowledged GrabPeer system,” Grab’s Acting General Manager Natasha Bautista said.

Being part of the Grab community gives GrabPeers access to the country’s widest car-booking user base. In exchange for the use of the software, GrabCar+ charges 20% of the total fare, while GrabPeers keep 80%.

To those who are interested to sign up as a GrabPeer, please visit www.grabcar.com and click “How to be a GrabPeer.”

Interested GrabPeers will be subjected to accreditation in compliance with the LTFRB laws, while GrabCar+ driver candidates will undergo a thorough screening.

“We are excited to open GrabCar+ to our GrabPeers. Together, we can offer more travel options to our customers and bring them to their destination in the fastest, most convenient, and safest way possible,” Natasha said.

Booking one of the luxury cars is possible through the GrabTaxi app, which is available for free at the App Store for IOS, Google Play for Android and Blackberry world. Once the app is opened, click on the GrabCar+ option. The app detects your current location and shows how many GrabCar+ drivers are in the vicinity. As soon as the destination is entered, the app displays the fixed fare. Passengers have the option to pay with cash or to go cashless (credit or debit cards).

At the passenger’s confirmation, the app contacts nearby drivers and sees their responses in real time. When a driver confirms, the app shows passengers the driver’s name and photo, and waiting time. The car’s proximity to your pick-up location can be tracked through the app. App-in button also shows the passenger to call the driver.

Photo credits to Azrael Coladilla who was booked with the Hummer from Makati to Ortigas with a fixed fare of P200.
